out of state fees and stuff

I live in MN and really have my heart set on California. I want to attend a UC school but the oos fee is $17k/yr. I need to know how much i can expect to pay since i cant afford the oos fee on top of tuition. here are my stats

3.9gpa unweighted
31 ACT 33 in math and sci(doing a CS major)
varsity hockey
MN resident

    If you get in, ask to defer a year. Work for a year before college, apply for state residency, and get in-state tuition.

    Be sure to check the requirements for state residency. At some places (if not most or all), if you are still a dependent on your parents' tax return, your residency won't change even if you live and work in another state.

    How much you would pay would depend on the financial package you are offered. There are online forms for estimating the amount one might be expected to cover.
