Ok, well I wrote my common app essay, and I was pretty proud of it...made family, friends, strangers cry. Yesterday, I took it to a person to edit (English professor/ very bright and articulate). She loved it but doesn't think it addresses the prompt well enough. Everyone knows the common app has several choices and then topic of your choice. All of the suggested topics mention how it has effected you. When you choose "topic of your choice" do you need to have a lot about how you are changed, or is a moving/ descriptive piece where change is more...implied better? To include more about how I'm different now, I would need to cut most of what makes my essay unique. I know one has a definite answer, but I'm really struggling with what to do.1 replies
