Even with 2300 SATS and all mid-700s in SAT2s, my son got 3 Bs this semester, and we're pretty much kissing the reach schools goodbye - maybe we're overly pessimistic, but I'd say I hope you really like your safety, and if there's still time, I'd strongly suggest sending apps to safeties you really, really love.

I'm in the same boat, but with calculus. Shall we see how this turns out? :)

P.S. Wait, do you mean a C first or second semester? If you're having it second semester, a lot of colleges send letters asking why. A lot of the time it turns out all right.

well considering it's your first ap class they might just think it's because of the course load. however, one thing i would be concerned about if say you got straight a's before and now you have a c, then it might look like you have senioritis. and um....you should always have a balanced list of schools, assuming your school offers ap classes at lower grades, this being your first ap class probably won't help at ivy-caliber schools.

lol why did you only take 1 AP class anyways?

1 AP? that is one more than I ever have taken. bad for college? there are something like 3,500 colleges, and tons of them would fit you.

For first semester, it is a problem, since most Ivy's really consider senior year (1st semester) as strongly as they do any other semester. But don't lose any hope! they will consider the fact that it is an AP, but ultimately it will slightly hurt your admission chances either way.

considering she wants to go to an Ivy, i'd say 1 AP isn't enough--since obviously her school offers it.
