How should I spend my summer? summer camp or volunteering/studying?

There is a Canadian government funded 5-week French summer program and I'm still contemplating whether I should go or nott.. If I do receive a bursary(which is very likely), it's basically free, except the transportation fee(will probably cost around $400 for a train to Quebec), and registration fee(150 dollars); you can also get a univ credit. The downside of this is that I'm not taking French this year and I am terrible at French. (or maybe that's why I should go?)

Another option for me is to just stay home while volunteering(or working) and studying for some SATs because I really need to. SATs are the biggest thing I'm worried about right now, and that's why I want to stay back.

This is the summer after my junior year and I have to spend it wisely.

What do you think?

In the US, most summer breaks are 10-12 weeks long, which would allow a student plenty of time to do all three things, if they were organized about allocating their time. Five weeks to the summer program, and then at least five weeks for intensive SAT prep and volunteering.
    Is your break much shorter?

    Thanks for your answer.
Our break is only about 2 months long. almost 3 months of break in the US? I didn't know that. I guess I can do both, maybe just 3 weeks of SAT/volunteering?
