I was on the waitlist this year for RPI, and I just got a letter that says:

"Thank you for your patience and for electing to keep Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as your first-choice school. If we are able to offer you a place in the Class of 2013 and you accept our offer of admission from the wait list, you will also receive a minimum Rensselaer scholarship
of $5,000 each year, should you choose to matriculate at RPI.

Rensselaer provides financial support for students regardless of their means, even during the harshest economic challenges. Through the generosity of our alumni, the Institute recently exceeded a $1.4 billion fundraising goal with an emphasis on supporting scholarships. It is through
their support that Rensselaer will continue to invest in and enhance the education of our outstanding students. You will be receiving documents in the mail shortly, which will detail all forms of available financial support for you and your family, should you be admitted and matriculate at the Institute.

If you are planning to apply for additional need-based aid, please submit all relevant documentation, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the CSS Profile. Once your information is received, the Office of Financial Aid will provide you with a revised award letter.
If the financial support described in this letter will enable you to attend and you would like to be called from the wait list so that you can matriculate at Rensselaer, please simply e-mail me at lutzkr@rpi.edu.
Our wait list review committee has begun to meet and will meet weekly to review student files.

Once again, thank you for your interest in Rensselaer and your patience in this process."

I'm not sure whether or not I'm in... BUT I HOPE SO!
