Is it weird to have professors on social media?

TheAverageJoe71TheAverageJoe71 Registered User Posts: 43 Junior Member
I took a survey awhile back that asked me some questions about what methods I prefer to use when contacting my professors, and one of the options on the survey was "social media." For some reason, I feel like being friends with my professors on Facebook would be really weird, and I also feel like it would be a little inappropriate for the type of relationship students typically have with professors. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, the professor could set up a page that you could be a part of without having to friend you. I'm in several groups like that. I contribute when I want to, but I don't get involved with people otherwise.
