what do your parents do for a living?
have you ever played any sports?
is it desirable to identify with groups of people?

have you ever had a personal relationship with god? do you want to?
why not? you know he wouldn't mind :D

what are you going to do all day when you're retired?
do you think people will still play computer games?
are we an official couple yet?
if you could ask galois anything, what would it be?

"what do your parents do for a living?"

    meh programmers :p

"have you ever played any sports?"

in 2nd grade, soccer. but my parents told me to quit - since I always jerked my head away from the ball whenever it came in my direction.
in retrospect, im glad i quit.

    since then only in pe.

"is it desirable to identify with groups of people?"

humans being social creatures yes. even im inclined to identify with groups of people. "what stereotypes do you have of certain communities?" I always imagine whether im representative of such stereotypes or not. after all, a huge curiosity of mine is the "basin of attraction" curiosity - given this person and the way he was raised, what basin of attraction is he most likely to fall into?

"have you ever had a personal relationship with god? do you want to?
why not? you know he wouldn't mind"

god feels so distant. ^_^ but i feel god is such a social construct. id like to have a personal relationship with a god i could make up (and convince myself of the legitimacy of that god)

"what are you going to do all day when you're retired?"

    hard to say ^_^. hm.

"do you think people will still play computer games?"

    haha almost certainly

"are we an official couple yet?"

i'm open. ^_^ it would be cute.

"if you could ask galois anything, what would it be?"

are you so certain that if you had known the significance of your theory, that you would have really felt so compelled to lose your life over that petty duel?

are you a "nerd," a "geek," or a "dork?"
are you going to respond to the previous question with something involving "labeling?"
are celebrities more screwed-up than normal people, or do we just know more about them?
what percent of your general philosophy on life comes from random books you've read?
are you choosing a major anytime soon?

"are you a "nerd," a "geek," or a "dork?""

I remember asking this question to someone two years ago. I considered myself all three. But there was a "dorks at heart" facebook group with hundreds of members; there was also a "nerds" facebook group with hundreds. Suffices to say I consider myself more extreme than them in all three qualities.

"are you going to respond to the previous question with something involving "labeling?""

Um, didn't I respond to all of your questions in this thread? :p

"are celebrities more screwed-up than normal people, or do we just know more about them?"

More screwed-up if you define "screwed-up" as being away from the basin of attraction related to rational thinking.

"what percent of your general philosophy on life comes from random books you've read?"

Probably not that much - those books have just given me the verbiage to clarify my philosophy.

"are you choosing a major anytime soon?"

Well it is math, I'm just going to avoid advisors whenever possible (and avoid declaring until I have to).

Hey what drove you to PM my friend that one time after figuring out who she was from Facebook or whatever?
    That was quite unnecessary, really.

This is where my friend got his copy of Apostol (as opposed to paying $80 for it at the bookstore).
