I would strongly suggest that you only show your essays to adults who have a long history on CC (I don't read essays but some people do).

Better yet, I recommend you go over the essays with a trusted English teacher in your HS.

What's the harm of sharing essays? I've found that some english teachers have a tendency to overcorrect and destroy a student's voice. Also, CC's are not always easily accessible. I like to get people's opinions just so I know that it reads the way I want it to.

What is the harm of sharing your essay with a person you don't know? Here are a few potential pitfalls:
    - the person you share with could be a poor writer and offer well-meaning but bad advice
    - the person could plagiarize your essay.
    - the person could put your essay up online so it comes up on a plagiarism checker.

FWIW my kids both asked an English teacher to look at their essay. They told the teacher upfront that they were happy with the essay and that they were asking them to check for things like grammatical errors, anything that read poorly etc. and both teachers respected their request.

In the end it is your application and your essay so you are perfectly free to take or leave my advice.
