Exchange Student Statement of Purpose
I am applying to be an exchange student at Royal Holloway University of London. I have to write a statement of purpose “Please provide a short essay why you wish to study abroad and how your chosen program fits into your educational program and life experience.” Is the prompt specifically. Has to be about 300 words. I know death is a taboo in college essays but I wanted to somehow incorporate my long time boyfriends suicide. This whole tragedy has kinda changed what I want to do in life (in a good way) so I thought it would be alright to give some vague context on why I want to do a certain career. I was also thinking of mentioning a specific course offered that I think would be beneficial in my growth from this experience. I am a criminology major and I always wanted to work in a non-profit but now I want to incorporate my major with getting rid of the suicide stigma. If it’s too personal or inappropriate I can probably figure something else out but this is definitely the most life changing thing that has ever happened to me.0 replies
