Backpack in college

I'm going to a very urban campus (GWU) and I'm wondering if there are any backpack recommendations? I'm a girl btw. I would like one that has a laptop compartment and a water bottle holder. Is there a particular style that more people use and is it different being in a city rather than a traditional campus?

If the campus is spread out so that you may have to run between classes, you may want one that is suitable for running.

Hi, I'm going to GWU this fall too! Go Colonials!
I personally have an all-black Swiss Gear laptop backpack that I've had since the start of junior year - it has held up amazingly well, by far the most durable backpack I've had. Most of their backpacks also have water bottle compartments. If you want more colorful options, I would highly recommend investing in either a North Face or a Vera Bradley, both of which have laptop options and water bottle compartments. I'm not quite sure what most people use at GW, but I imagine it won't be too different from other schools. You will want something comfortable that will be able to fit all of your school supplies, and functional - I use mine for sleepovers, travel, etc., so at the end of the day, I think those are the most important factors. You could carry a tote, but I think a backpack will be much more practical :)

I’ve used a north face backpack for the last 3 years and its still holding strong so remember if you invest a bit more into something that’s higher quality it will probably pay off with time.

LL Bean has good backpacks in some great patterns! They’re very practical and made for many different markets. In addition to the school style most are familiar with, they have some really great commuter and business style backpacks with padded laptop sleeves and stuff. I’ve had a Bean messenger bag since my senior year of HS and use it every day
