Appeal for academic probation PLZ HELP

emorylover98emorylover98 Registered User Posts: 8 New Member
I'm in a top univ (not emory) and one of the standing requirements is to take a certain writing class
I was planning to transfer to another college under the uni, talked to the adviser of that college, thus did not take the class (my mistake).
Two weeks after school ends, The school sent me an email that unless i take summer school and take this class, I would be on probation (=dismissal).
However, during the summer Im in a country where I can't access school email without a VPN... It's the gov's policy. and recently the policies have made it harder so it was nearly impossible for me to use gmail during vacation. I didn't go to the summer school because I couldn't access the email that told me to do so.
The school thought I ignored their email, and decides to dismiss me, I have 15 days to appeal.
I really didn't see the message, and it's not because I'm too lazy to check, it's because I couldn't connect (I tried to use facebook several times, couldn't load any pics, and gave up.
What are the chances of me appealing successfully? I have 3.5 GPA, been doing okay and didn't drink, party, cheat, or etc.

Tell them you were unreachable and provide evidence of your travels. Also register for the required class for this fall. The appeal letter should include evidence of these things.

You need to be telling all this to the college. Do it right away.

You can try the appeal, but unfortunately, you knew the requirement and left without checking if you could wait on the course.
Instead of notifying the college that you wouldn't take the course- and changed your schedule to be unavailable by email,-you missed a pertinent requirement.
All you can do now is hope that they have a sympathetic ear.
