Dual Enrollment

So I am currently a dual enrolled sophomore student at my high school. Junior year i plan on taking AP Chemistry at my high school but senior year I plan on taking General Chem 1&2 at my local college. Im just wondering are they not the same class? since AP is considered a college credit class and gen chem is a college class?

In general, AP Chem = CC Gen Chem. Depending upon the college you end up enrolling, neither may be equivalent to that college's gen chem. But for HS purposes, it duplicative, so you should take something else.

Would your high school give you credit for both? What would be the purpose of taking both?

Don't take both high school AP chemistry and college general chemistry, due to likely duplication (and appearance of grade grubbing).
