I have a questions. Do you choose your roommate and then you guys decide where you want to live on campus. Or do you just pick a place and you get a roomie. Im just wondering how the whole process works. Also should I pay extra to have a bathroom in my room

Usually you pick your roommates that you wanna live with and then you each get a lottery number, and once the housing process gets to whichever roommate had the best number, then that roommate goes in and picks the building. But that’s mainly for upperclassmen. Freshman are usually randomly assigned buildings and roommates.

As for the bathroom, the communal bathrooms are actually pretty important spaces to interact with other people in the dorm, so I’d say it’s not worth the extra money to get your own. But also you have your own preferences so if you’d rather have more privacy then go for it
