Unofficial William and Mary Transfer Spring 2019 Hopefuls

Hey, everyone! I made this for anyone that wants to talk about how they’re getting ready to apply in the Fall as a Spring 2019 transfer. I’ll start by telling you guys a little about myself and anything potentially related to admissions! I am a white female from New Jersey with Tourette syndrome (it doesn’t really matter but it’s a fun fact about me) and I am currently studying biology at a New Jersey community college. I applied to WM as a high school senior and was waitlisted. I stayed on the waitlist and did not receive an offer. I started at the community college in Fall 2017 Because WM is my top choice and I wanted to go to an inexpensive school before transferring. In case you were wondering, I didn’t put my Tourette’s on my application. Maybe I will next time to help the admissions team get to know me better. Now, for some stats!

High School
4.1 Weighted GPA
1350 SAT
5 AP classes (US Gov, Calc AB, Statistics, Bio, US History)
A’s in all classes except math where I got B’s

Current college GPA: 3.733 (pretty sure it should be a 3.75 but I haven’t asked my college yet)

Fall 2017 Community College
English Comp I: A
Calc I: B
Chem I: A
Bio 2: A

Spring 2018 Community College (in progress, these are my current grades)
English Comp II: A
Calc II: B
Chem II: A
World Civ I: A

Classes I WILL BE taking Summer 2018 Community College
Organic Chem I

Classes I WILL BE taking Fall 2018 Community College
Physics (Calc based)
Microbiology
Genetics
Honors Intro to Ethics

-Member of my college’s honors program
-Member of Phi Theta Kappa honors society

ALSO, if anyone has an suggestions for some backup schools to apply to, please share! If you’re not planning on going to WM, I’d still love to hear about your school selection!

    Hey!

Just wanted to say I was actually in your same shoes last semester! Just looking at your classe schedule I think you have a very great deal of getting in! I got in (had a bad hs GPA) and we took similar classes. The transfer Dean is very easy to talk to also !

Best of luck to everyone applying for the spring! I'm applying for this fall, but I will re-try again for the spring if I'm rejected. I'm also looking at Wake Forest University.
