I am thinking about taking an AP course over the summer and i am in 11th grade. Will the course I take this summer affect my GPA that i send to colleges.

That would depend on your high school. if your high school included the grade on your transcript and in your GPA, then yes. If the course is not on your HS transcript, you would send a separate transcript for that course, and it is up to the admissions offices whether they recalculate GPAs.
