Submitting Official Transcripts via Common App

Can someone confirm/contradict that the Official School Transcript can be submitted online along with the Secondary School Report via the online Common Application? If so, how does one let his/her counselor know to send the Official Transcript with the SSR online? Or are the instructions for sending the Official Transcript with the SSR already provided in the e-mail sent to the counselor from the Common App website? The reason I ask is that people have been telling me that the Official Transcript must be submitted by paper and others are telling me that the Official Transcript may be submitted online. I need confirmation. Also, must the common app be submitted before the Official transcripts/SSR are sent in by the counselor? Or does it not matter? Thanks!

Yeah, I'd like to know if I ned to mail transcripts out or if they are included with the counselor's recommendation as well.

I've got this one! My counselor forgot to do it, so I had to help her do it over the past week. The SSR just has some stats about the school, but then it asks for ratings of the student such as academics, sports, etc. Towards the end, the counselor can (should) upload a reccomendation letter. There is also a spot to upload an official transcript, assuming your school has it available. My counselor tried to upload it, but it said "invalid access," which probably had to do with the security on the school computers. She then had to switch to "Offline Provider" and do everything in paper, which is a PAIN.

***note the letter of reccomendation your counselor writes needs to be generic, because it goes to every school on your list

If you don't mind a couple of add on questions...

Are the Common App directions to the Counselor explicit, ours has needed a lot of handholding; and

Does the Counselor do this just once, i.e. Once the Counselor fills out the form and uploads the trasncript, does this suffice for all Common App schools, just like the uploaded Letters of Rec?

Anything that gets uploaded is uploaded for all the apps. GC needs to be very careful - nothing can be changed once its uploaded.
