I heard from some of my classmates at school that English learners can get into same University as others do with lower SAT scores?
(talking about UCs)

I hope this is true, since I came to U.S freshmen year of high school, although I have a good enough GPA (UC gpa 4.36), but Standardized testing completely threw me off.

I got a 1800 on Jan SAT1, although 790 on SATII Chem and 800 on mathII.

BTW, i will have about 9~10 Ap classes on my transcript by the time i have to turn in my UC app, does it help? (i have all 5s till now.)

Anyways.

I am just wondering that will UCs accept a student with lower SAT scores because its English learner background?

I am shooting for LA and Berkeley, also interested in SD and IRvine.
