How does transferring to a university work when we've attended more than one community college?

Hi everyone! Fairly new here, really loving this site! Wondering about CC and all recently.

Spending two years in a California Community College as an out-of-state student here. Will spend another year taking classes at a community college in Washington State. Wishing to transfer over to a UC.

1. When applying for the UCs as a transfer student, will the GPA of the two community colleges be "joined" together? This might be ridiculous question, but just wondering. Or do I choose which GPA to pick?
2. Should I just transfer over the credits earned in California to the Washington one (selectively choosing the classes I did well in), and apply from the Washington Community College....... OR take classes in Washington and bring them over to the California Community College? Or could I just apply from either without transferring credits from CC to CC (and assume all the credits transfer to a UC from both colleges)?

I hope this may also help others' going through a similar situation as well!

From what I've learned...you have to send both of you transcripts to the uc college that you are applying to. The courses that are uc transferable will be calculated into a cumulative "uc" gpa. You should also consult with a transfer specialist at your Washington school to make sure your classes transfer over, in which case you would need to send over course descriptions with the corresponding class from the uc college. If your goal is to transfer to the uc system...then-to my understanding-it is best to finish off with the CCC before transferring which will appear on your transcript. However, I'm not sure if when you apply they will consider the last community college you attended or the state that you claim residency.
