Transfer from CSU to CC

Hello! So I didn’t do very well my first year at a csu ending with a 2.1gpa. I had gone through 2 family tragedies that year and put my social life before studying which led to my failure. I also don’t think I’ll be able to afford tuition this year so I was wondering, will my failing grades transfer to a community college? Or will my other good grades transfer? I failed math and an anthropology class but passed the rest...

    Your college transcript including failing grades unfortunately will follow you to any college you attend, however you can look into academic renewal or repeating the failed courses to help bump up your GPA. I suggest you work with your CC advisor to make a plan so you excel at the CC.

    You can generally repeat classes that you got lower than a C-. It will help your GPA if you repeat the class and get presumably a much better grade. Also if your class is one used for declaring your major, repeating the class and getting a passing grade may void out your failed class completely as well.
