If threads are closed do they disappear or are users now permitted to delete threads? I was flagged on one today that no longer seems to exist. If a thread was closed before the relaunch, we'd get a notification that we couldn't post to it, but it was still there to read. This doesn't show up in a search or in the OP's thread history either.

Not unless the thread violates ToS @austinmshauri

    No

It was deleted because it violated ToS.

Could you please delete some of the really old information( 2012/13, etc.) on the College Information sites ? A lot of the information/ lack of relevant information is irritating. Thanks !

Still think there's too much white space on the non-mobile forum pages.
So much bright white is tiring my eyes quickly on the large screen.

The magnifying glass at the top right generates a warning on Mac (Edit: "This is a non-secure form. This form will be sent in a way that is not secure. Are you sure you want to send it?"), but the one below New Discussion looks okay.

Both magnifying glasses work fine on my Mac.

Rats. Now all the previously banned posters have the same new avatar. It was much more helpful when they still had the old CC avatar.

@jym626 look again. The dearly departed have a different atatar than say...mine.

It’s now...but not the same as everyone who is active!

? On the full site, I see the old avatar. But on mobile, it's the new one.
    (I mean for banned posters.)

I have only been here since 2009 but I really have never really understood the jail bars or the banned.
I guess it is time I asked--even though I feel silly--!?

Jail bars are given for either one very serious violation of the Terms of Service, or several more minor violations that add up. There's a point system for it. The moderators didn't design it!

We ban posters if their very first post is a TOS violation (usually it's spamming). It takes several violations for someone to be banned, typically. Or sometimes a user will respond very abusively to a moderator, and that's a bannable offense. It takes a LOT for a long-time user to be banned - we give second and third chances! It still happens, though.

If you have further questions about moderation, you can send me a PM. :)
