Your test scores are near Cornell's 75%ile with 800 on SAT Math (but I thought most school like to see Math level 2 score)?

Good extracurriculars with leadership. So your chance for Cornell would be very good. I don't think being Indian and bilingual help you any.

    Ok thanks for the opinion

@MBenz23, I would say that @Latuza is right about the SAT. Most schools would greatly prefer SAT Math II over Math I. An 800 is always great, but won't be as impressive as a slightly lower score on Math II. Also in your ECs you mention stuff from middle school. Don't mention stuff from middle school on any application.

You have a solid set of scores and a good GPA, but Cornell is virtually a reach for everyone and would be impossible to say whether or not someone will get in. You definitely have better odds than many, but it all depends on what they are looking for.

Hey, can you guys tell me what my chances are for Cornell: Do you guys know if Cornell CoE is a highly number based school? I mean my stats are bit low (below average) for Cornell due to some personal circumstances (which I explained on the application) but I am like an Intel semifinalist, siemens regional fiinalist, AIME qualifier - actually got in the high 130's on the AMC 10 and about 110 on the AMC 12 etc.. What do you think my chances are? To be more specific, I got a 32 on the ACT (with a 35 on Math and 33 on Reading) and pretty much all A/A- in my math/sci classes but did poorly in foreign language (including a B- junior year), humanities (quite a few B+'s) etc.. I have also interned at a software company and won medals in chess and tennis competitions. As for SAT II's I got a 800 on Math II and 760 on chem. I got a rec from my math, CS teachers and supplement from a research mentor. Thanks!

    what's your gpa @agg999

@BB8764 I think providing GPAs are useless unless the person knows the rigor and the scale that the school uses. That is the reason I provided the exact grades. But, if you want to know my GPA it is a 4.22 weighted (school doesn't report unweighted). I really messed up junior year (mostly B+'s due to personal circumstances which I mentioned in the application). So, what do you think of my chances now? Thanks!

I don't know how they'll feel about those B's. If you did really good your junior and senior year, it will truly show you got bad grades because of the personal circumstance.

@BB8764 I actually got all A's except for 2 A-'s and a B+ combined freshmen and soph. year. it was my junior year, that i literally got straight B+'s other than 3 or 4 A's due to certain circumstances. But, even though I have quite a few accomplishments, i feel like I am prob. not going to get in. But, we'll see :D
