AP Stats - urgent

I'm planning to major in MA&E right now, and I know engineering does not accept AP Stats credit, so is it worth taking the test? However, I'm still not sure about engineering and im doing premed track so is it worth taking the test on the chance that I will transfer to CAS? Need to know since test is in a couple days.

Wait, didn't u already pay for the test because I heard Collegeboard only makes the right number of copies for each AP test. If so, why not just try and pull off a 4 or 5?

you can just not take it
and get all but 13 dollars of your money back

My S is in the same boat as you, but if he does not sit for the test, his school will notify Cornell and his HS transcript will be adjusted so that the class will no longer be an AP class. Since you've been doing the work all year, why not just take the test for fun? Furthermore, if you read Cornell engineering's position on APs at the website, they discourage freshmen from using AP credits in Calc, Physics and Chem; and prefer that you take the placement tests given during Freshmen Orientation instead. Apparently the belief is that AP classes taught in high school are not really equivalent to their college counterparts, at least for engineering majors.

Does anyone know if ILR accepts AP Stats? I haven't really studied at all for it and I'm worried I'm going to bomb it.

tun - ilr sort of accepts the AP stats credit. If you get a 4 or a 5, you'll have to take a short 1 credit coruse on something like multiple regression, it's not covered by the AP stats exam. ILR stats is 4 credits while the AP stats exam will only give you 3 of the necessary credits (according to ilr standards)

"Since you've been doing the work all year, why not just take the test for fun?"

The answer to that is the possibility of $69 and no sleep tomorrow being totally wasted. I'm still having trouble deciding!

Why don't you ask your HS 1st thing in the morning if your transcript would be affected if you did not take the test, and whether you would still be charged? Especially if you do take the test, you should get a good night's sleep.

Ok so I paid 75 dollars to take the test, and then another 53 dollars to move it to a different date (It was schedualed when my track team was playing its rival and I'm captain). The teacher doesn't teach by the test and I figure I'm just going to go in tommorow and ask if I can get some money back...

For ILR the one test they said there is a problem with is AP Stats because they want you to take it with them. Maybe the other guy above me knows more though.

they do want you to take their stats, but mostly because they cover things that are not on the ap exam. You can get credit for the AP test, though.

according to that link, does that mean if i take calc AB instead of BC, it won't count?

haha, i wish i had known that they don't take the ap stats credit for engineers before i spent my weekend studying for it and freaking out about how i didn't know anything

I think I might just take it so I don't have to hassle over the final and everything...(it would be my only final)
