@va2pittsburgh Yes on the Common App, you would list your internships in the activities section

    Hey everyone!

I currently attend another university and I'm in the final process of finishing my application (just a few edits here and there) Nice to meet everyone here!

    College:
    - Currently a sophomore, will be applying as a junior
    - Applying for Human Biology, Health and Society
    - 76 credits; all my prereqs are completed
    - Involvement: organic chemistry, biology, chemistry and biochemistry tutor, i've been a volunteer EMT for 2 years, started a global health club freshman year, volunteer with refugees
    - GPA: 3.89/4.00
    - Recommendation: My organic chemistry professor, Dean of my college, and English professor. My recommendations were very strong most likely due to my personal connection with my professors -- I go to a relatively small school which has allowed me to build a strong academic relationship with them.

Right now, i'm looking to apply to USC and Cornell for their global health-esque major. It's hard to find a college (which are only a handful) that incorporates health and science as a single major.

@ngujo96 I think you have a really great shot at Cornell. You seem to be well involved in your field. However, you should know that the deadline for USC has passed on Feb 1 for fall transfer.

For biomedical engineering applicant. Cornell doesn't accept any biomedical engineering major applicants because it's not offered as an engineering major, but rather as a minor. I have discussed with a current admission officer, and she suggested to apply for transfer into other engineering departments such as biological engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering.....etc and pursue a minor in biomedical engineering.

I know I wrote in this form already but I wanted to ask again. I am entering as a junior and haven't completed all the required coursework. I completed 3 of the requirements but still need to take 3 more classes. Will Cornell still consider me if I take those courses this summer? I tried to call and ask but they said they aren't taking calls at this moment, so any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I think it would be nice if we made a google doc spreadsheet of acceptances for everyone's reference, so that we could do something similar to this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/18464753#Comment_18464753 but allow everyone to add themselves on their own. I think it's be better then that having people update it by themselves.

Okay. So I just made a Google Sheet that's open for anyone to edit. Please enter your username, major and whether you're a GT or not.

Here is the link:(docs dot google dot com) https://****/spreadsheets/d/198ZePNbNaoxA7veLdTv8BXENnj-8Yv5s2OkkfRRq178/edit?usp=sharing

Please fill this out everyone. It'll really help all of us, as well as future applicants.

Was wondering if someone could chance me for fall 2017? CALS Biometry and Statistics applying for class of 2020

    College GPA: 4.0
    HS GPA: 3.8
HS.EC: V. President of Emerging Sciences Club, President of Soldering Club, 2x City Champion swimmer, President of SpaceXploration Club
College EC: KPMG Data Science Internship, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Statistics intern, Investment Banking Analyst at a Fund at my college, Captain of my Intramural soccer team
Recommendations: Academic Advisor (8/10), Composition Professor (6/10), Faculty at the lab I interned at (11/10)
Essays: Both of them are really good, at least I'd like to believe so

The only problem is that I am missing an intro statistics course, but I talked to Cornell Admission and was told that if I explained my situation, it would be alright.

    Thank you!

@nyrider You neglect to say what Cornell school you are applying to (ILR, CAS etc.). What did you take? What courses didn't you take? Lots of helpful people here if you give the details people need. It's like asking will I like Cornell's food--why? are you vegan? have allergies? and so on. You need a strong application now because you will be pitted against those who already took the prerequisites for their particular school when decisions are made.

I applied to CALS, Communication major. I took one writing, psychology, and sociology class. I need to take another writing course, statistics, and physics. I am taking courses this summer so I will make sure to note that on the additional information section on common app.
I have a 3.9 gpa at a large state school, good extracurriculars with leadership roles, I'm a research assistant, and I also have two really great recommendation letters.

@nyrider you're gpa is great so that will help esp. if your h.s. one is the same. My transfer counselor at Cornell advised me to have prerequisites completed or be in the process of completing i.e. now, Spring semester. Plus having at least one Writing course puts you ahead of others who haven't. It is all a crap shoot. Just make sure you show why you fit!!! Good luck and get goin'--it's the 11th hour for apps. and essays!

Do you guys know how well does it look if you got an A in all the pre-reqs for ILR. I know thats not a sure thing as there are other aspects they look at but is it fair to be optimistic?

Like I said to nyrider @Mastodon97 crap shoot!, but A's in the pre-req's and your major, even if it is undeclared, is perfect. What did you take? The ILR specifics I took are Statistics, a Writing Seminar and Microeconomics.

Hey guys, sorry if this has already been asked on the thread, but for the Mid-Term Report, is it okay/will it still be accepted if I send it online a few days past the March 15 deadline? One of my profs can't get the form back to me until then.

Yes, @bettycrocker03 I read the deadline was April 15th, but was told to get it in by April 1st. I am in same boat--midterms have yet to be graded

    @keepcalmandtransfer
Yup, all the ILR required classes, I've already finished all the requirements. I worked super hard to get an A in all of them. I knew I wanted to transfer even before the end of my winter quarter of freshman year at my current school into ILR, so I specifically set up my schedule for ILR (I was taking another university's course work at my current university lol)

@Mastodon97 Same. I took Stat. over Winter Session somewhere else. I am at a "hidden" Ivy that delusionally thinks it is an Ivy and I am going nowhere fast. I was on the Common App. in August--I win! ;)
