Need to send all SAT subject test scores to Cornell?

BerniceNJBerniceNJ Registered User Posts: 34 Junior Member
Cornell requires students to submit all scores from SAT tests taken and does not participate in the College Board’s Score Choice.

However, I wonder whether this applies to SAT II subject tests as well.

Can I select to send in scores for SAT II Math and Chem, but not Biology?

Cornell's admissions requirements page says it depends on the college of Cornell to which you are applying. You should look at the requirements for that specific college.

You must submit your ACT scores or every SAT 1 and SAT 2 score you have ever earned. Even if the particular Cornell college requires no SAT 2's if you send the SAT1's you are required to send them every SAT score you ever earned. Here is the Url for the definitive statement on SATs: http://blogs.cornell.edu/admissions/2011/10/19/the-faqs-of-sats-and-acts/
and here is the quote from that page:

Does Cornell participate in Score Choice?

No, Cornell does not participate in Score Choice. When you send your SAT scores we ask that you send us all of your scores, including all Subject Test scores. When sending your ACT scores, send us all test dates. This allows our selection committee to review the scores that are most supportive to your application. It is to your advantage to send all scores! (end quote)

So if you send the SATs at all you must send every score on any SAT test to Cornell. It's also on this page in bold: https://admissions.cornell.edu/apply/first-year-applicants/admission-requirements

This citation is not as encouraging as the first quote I cited but still definitive enough. click "Standardized Test Scores and find this quote:

You must submit your scores for either the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT. Some of our undergraduate colleges/schools also have specific requirements for the SAT Subject Tests. Review the Freshman Admission Requirements Chart to see what’s required. It’s your responsibility to make sure that you have taken the right Subject Tests. All required scores must be officially reported to Cornell from the testing agency by our application deadline. Note that Cornell requires students to submit all scores from SAT tests taken and does not participate in the College Board’s Score Choice. (end quote)

    Good fortune to you!
