@CrayonShinChan - you seem to be getting some traction. I would call them this week to get an update. Try to talk to an AO rather than a student worker. If you can't get through, email your AO. What you want to do is to be on top of the pile as soon as they go to the WL.

When my daughter was WL I found out on CC that Cornell was going to its WL, so I had her high school GC call. The GC didn't quite believe me and asked to wait. I pushed. When she called she was told they weren't quite ready to go to their WL yet, but that same afternoon the GC got a call from Cornell that they wanted to offer a spot to my daughter. They gave my kid only few days to decide.

Heads up - when they take students off the WL they would most likely call the student(or the GC) to ask if the student is interested. They would keep on calling until they fill the class. After they get a verbal commitment that's when they send out the acceptance letter. You should all think about whether you would accept (talk it over with your parents) if you should get a call because you won't have much time to think it over.

Do you guys think it's a good idea to send an email to the dean of admissions now, after I've already sent a LOCI? Or would that be annoying?

    Thanks.

@oldfort Haha, I wouldn't call it much of a traction, but thank you! I will take note of your advice and definitely ask my GC to call. I already asked him to write a LOCI directly to them so hopefully a call would not pester him. But out of curiosity, do they take into consideration of extracurriculars you have succeeded or generally anything you have done since application submission?

@oldfort Question: how would I contact my admission's officer? I do not know who my admission's officer was. Were you referring to any general AO, and if you were how would I find their contacts regarding email addresses. I know that if you try calling them, a student representative first picks up.

I emailed my admissions person (I applied to CALS) awhile ago and they told me to just send my additional information through the portal under waitlist correspondence. I followed their instructions, but I see that some people also emailed them instead. Do you think it matters? I’m super anxious so that’s why I’m asking.

It dosen't matter; you simply followed the instructions they gave out. Regardless of whether you email, upload to the portal, or call the office, you're showing up on their radar and taking initiative. Plus you already emailed your admissions person, so its not like you didn't contact them at all. At this point, relax (you deserve to!), you're doing enough and the final decision is basically out of our hands now

    Another note from Cornell:

Thanks for your patience, (name). At this point, Cornell is still determining if additional spaces are available for students on the waiting list. It is possible that some waitlisted students may hear from Cornell as early as this week through the end of the month.

    I hope this is helpful,

@coninston1 I asked them yesterday night. I called them about 10 minutes ago and they said that they do not specificlly know when they will start taking people off the waitlist but they have indeed started looking at them.

Has anyone called admissions yet to see when they will release decisions. I looked at past years threads and some of the colleges should’ve released decisions by now.
