Visiting/Talking to Profs/Classes

At Dartmouth, if one was to visit campus, would it be easy for them to talk to professors/listen in on classes? I am planning on visiting sometime this summer and was just wondering if there was any other way to get a feeling of the college and academics besides the guided tour and informational session. Are there any other programs that the college has for prospective students? Thanks for the help.

When we visited this spring, a current student from our home town arranged with one of his professors to have my daughter sit in on an English class. Afterwards, the professor took some time to talk with her. She was quite impressed with it all. No doubt this experience helped sell her on attending this coming fall. I hope you are able to do the same.

D visited in the spring of 2009 after being admitted to try to choose between the college and Harvard. Sat in on a classics course. Liked it so much that she asked the professor if she could return the next day. Of course. Guess which school she chose. Guess who her thesis advisor was. You won't have as many options in the summer, but (unlike many schools) Dartmouth is actually in session (sophomore summer, when the second years rule the roost) and there will be classes. I'm not sure there are official programs, but you should be able to see what classes are being offered and inquire about the possibility of sitting in on one.

@saffysmum @AboutTheSame @Guanabana Thank you all so much for your help. I am super excited to visit, and the Faculty Fridays look really interesting! I am definitely going to inquire about sitting in on a class if possible.
