Just saw your good news. Congratulations!!! About your RA and lupus pain, wonder whether your doctor would OK you for taking baths with epsom salt? This helps me and maybe it would be helpful for you too. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

@melvin123 I've tried those before and really, really wanted them to help but they didn't. Topical treatments have never really worked and I don't know why. My mom's very into "natural" alternatives so I've tried plenty and unfortunately, nothing :(. I hate it.

I'm sorry this hasn't worked for you! Maybe meditation and visualization would help. Even if you've tried it before without success, you might get a different result because of all the changes going on with your mind and body.

I see you stated your a caffeine person. Be careful with decaf. My wife was on a local channel ,20 years ago while pregnant going into all the name brand places getting a decaf coffee and the TV channel sent it straight to a lab for analysis. All the decafs coffee's had caffeine at various levels and some really high. Maybe things have changed but recent articles seem to support this also.

@knowsstuff no worries here - I despise coffee.

I'm allowed a can or two of pop a day and I'm taking advantage of that for my own sanity lol.

Ginger root in hot water with some lemon can make a nice hot drink that helps lessen nausea.

Congratulations, and best wishes @romanigypsyeyes How fun and exciting that you’re sharing your story with all of us. I just found the thread after the name change and now a new reason to be on CC more often.

Regarding fatigue, nausea and pregnancy, it varies so much from one woman to another. I had hyperemesis gravidarum (then just referred to as extreme morning sickness needing trips to the ER) with my pregnancies, which caused me to lose around 15 lbs in the first trimester. It was a struggle for me to climb a flight of stairs. Also, I never found a remedy that worked for my nausea and I’m pretty sure I tried everything possible including doctor prescribed meds. None of my friends who were pregnant around the same time as I was, had any issues with nausea.
With my first, I was in school full time and working part-time, so it seemed harder to have energy for anything else. But talking about exercise and pregnancy always brings up one of my worst memories.
The nausea and fatigue were better by the third trimester, but for other reasons I had to take a break from school and work.
I finally had the time and energy for exercise and I started to take midday walks around the neighborhood. On one such walk, I was caught smack in the middle of a police chase - 2 officers were running after a gunman who literally just crossed the sidewalk a few feet in front of me. My memories of the incident are hazy but I vaguely recall the officers yelling at me to get out of the way because the man they were chasing had a gun. I was grateful that nothing bad happened but for a very long time I was scared to even walk outside our house.

I've been using peppermint mints. Most of the nausea is gone though. For now. Hoping it stays that way lol.

@romanigypsyeyes - congratulations! I am so excited for you and will be following your pregnancy journey. I just found out last weekend that my baby brother and his wife are expecting their third child around the end of April. I have been texting with my oldest niece (not his brother's daughter) that she will be 40 next year when her new baby cousin is born!

Pot? I think she referenced trying to minimize drinking pop. Though maybe I missed something earlier.

Earlier in the thread, there was discussion and jokes about the baby's due date of 4/20.

Ahahaha. For reasons that I dont know, 4/20 is like national marijuana day and code for time to go smoke some. So like is it 4:20 yet is the weed equivalent of its 5 o'clock somewhere.

It's funny for me because my parents are potheads and they joked that I was the alien child because i didnt like to partake. But now it's my kid due on pot day lol.
