I am writing in reference to your application for admission to Washington University for the 2005 fall semester.
With the National Candidates' Reply Date of May 1 behind us, we have assessed our enrollment situation for the incoming freshman class. Due to the number of students accepting our offer of admission, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer any additional places in the freshman class.
Washington University is extremely receptive to qualified transfer students who, during the course of an initial year or more of successful college study elsewhere, find that their interest in our University continues to be strong. If you are interested in learning more about transfer possibilities for the future, we do hope you will keep in touch with us.
We fully acknowledge the added anxiety being on our wait list has meant to many students and we genuinely appreciate your ongoing interest in Washington University during the recent application process. We send you our very best wishes for success during your first year of study at your chosen institution.
