How difficult is it to get good grades at Wesleyan. I'm not really sure if they have grade deflation or not. If someone wanted to maintain a very GPA, close to a 4.00 in order to get into a prestigous grad school, would it be possible? I'd just like to get some prespective on the academics there.
That's an excellent question and one that gets a fair degree of thread time. For example, according to the grade inflation adjustment index that someone claims was smuggled out of the Boalt (UC-Berkeley) Law School admissions office, the only two elite colleges harder to get an A than Wesleyan were Williams and Swarthmore: http://web.archive.org/web/20000829094953/http://www.pcmagic.net/abe/gradeadj.htm

OTOH, there are people on this very forum who claim to take "~6 to 7 courses a semester and still have a tremendous amount of idle time": http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wesleyan-university/989392-apathy-towards-academics.html#post1065521607
