I know that Georgetown has a better reputation, grad school placement, and internship opportunities. For someone who plans to stay in the Chicago area for work, would the strong Chicago connection of IU and a similarly rated B school make up for or surpass GTown's advantages, in context? My dad works in upper management finance in Chicago, and he says IU would be better.
I'm just deciding whether it's worth it with the time-consuming GTown application, if a safe school in IU would be higher on my list.
Additionally, would this situation apply to other East Coast schools like UVA, or Duke econ?
