Do self-studied APs matter senior yr for the application process?

Strange question, but I realized many college apps are due Nov 1st or Jan 1st and AP exams are only in May (after many colleges have sent letters). I am planning to self study for the Government AP (there's no corresponding class for it at my school) and take it in May but will colleges see this? As in, is there room on my application to add it + other APs I'm taking senior year?

(My school does not offer AP classes freshman or sophomore year so the bulk of the ones I'm taking are in senior year)

    You can add it on the 'additional information' part of the app. Some apps also allow you to list exam scores AND any exams you plan to take in the future so you could put it there. If your school has something call independent study, getting independent study ap Gov might also allow colleges to see it.

    While true, colleges also will not care. When I was going through the admissions process, I went to an Exploring College Options event, which had reps from Harvard, Stanford, Penn, Duke, and Georgetown, among others. During the Q&A, someone asked, "What do you think of applicants who self-study for additional AP's over and above the AP classes they take?" One rep responded, "Please don't do that. We're not impressed by that." The other reps all nodded.

    While there are valid reasons to self study, an edge in admissions is not one of them.

    What about if your school only offers 3 aps? APUSH, AP HUG, AP LIT
