Northwestern received a record number of applications in both the Early Decision and regular applicant pools, and anticipates a decline in acceptance rates for both groups, University officials told The Daily. Because BC has to compete with many prestigious institutions for students, the Office of Undergraduate Admission has boosted its efforts to increase the yield of accepted students.
Last month, on Dec. 15, Hamilton College notified 191 students that they had been accepted into the Class of 2022. The majority of these students applied through Hamilton’s Early Decision Plan I program, for which applications were due Nov. 15. Of the 191 accepted students, 161 applied through this Early Decision plan, which is a binding commitment for prospective students. The remaining 25 accepted students were from the non-profit scholarship programs QuestBridge and the Posse Foundation. This is the first time Hamilton has accepted QuestBridge scholars; the College partnered with the organization last summer. These 191 students were accepted from a total pool of 647 applicants for an acceptance rate of around 29.5 percent.
