Options following the Questbridge Match- Columbia University

MrBean1978MrBean1978 37 replies12 threads Junior Member
Hi all,

I know Columbia offers you a chance to apply ED after the match, and they state "Only Finalists with a completed application to Columbia will be eligible to make this request". Does this mean that I have to have a CommonApp filled out that they'll consider? Or will they still use the Questbridge application as reference?

Thank you in advance.

I think this is a relatively rare circumstance. If you are a Questbridge Finalist who ranks Columbia and goes through the match process and do not get matched, Columbia will notify you that you may be considered for early decision and provide additional instructions. They will use the Questbridge application materials (including the Columbia questionnaire). You cannot submit a early decision CommonApp or CoalitionApp because the match notification (December 3) is past Columbia's ED deadline (November 1) and Finalists going through the match process may not submit an ED application. However, you can apply ED to Columbia separately from Questbridge if you are not selected as a Finalist or if you choose not to take advantage of the match process.
