Should I send a 710 Chemistry and 770 Math 2 Subject Tests to colleges?

Hey everyone,
I just got my SAT II scores back from June, took forever. I got a 710 in Chemistry and 770 in Math 2. My question is if I should send these scores to colleges that say they recommend the subject tests (UPenn, Cornell, etc.). This is mostly for IVY league schools. Percentile wise the scores are lower than I would wish for, but I don't think they will hurt me if I send them. What do you guys think?

I appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

@JasonSmithy3 For T20 schools, "recommend" is generally understood to mean that you should provide them unless there is a compelling reason not to do so. What I have read here is that a 700-750 score is a neutral data point and 750+ helps you. For very tippy top tech-oriented schools like Caltech, MIT, or Harvey Mudd, a 800 in Math II is desirable.

Ok! Thank you! I will send it as it probably wouldn't hurt me. I did well on my SAT too so I should be good.

@yshahi Same, I got a 710 math. I feel skeptical about sending it to the big schools.

Without having seen the rest of the application, I would personally retake a 710 in a STEM Subject if planning to major in STEM, especially if the 710 is M2.

Now, if one is a rising Senior, and there are other elements of the application that need to be strengthened, like SAT/ACT, then those should be the priority over Subject Tests. If prepping for Subject Tests would compromise your GPA and/or essays, then think hard about where time should be spent.

However, be aware, that for T20 schools, most applicants will have strong Subject Test scores plus strong everything else.

710 will not help. but will not hurt you by much. This is to say, if you have all of your ducks in order, and you send in a 710 score, you will be okay.
