SAT Essay: 17

Are these scores going to positive, neutral, or negative for top colleges? Thanks!
And would it be worthwhile to retake the test?

It's a perfectly fine score for top schools. It's one small part in holistic admissions. Most highly competitive schools place more weight on GPA and course rigor.

Your scores are fine, along with thousands of others competing for few spots.

If you look at top schools, their average SAT score is yours or maybe lower, so I think you are fine. That said, it definitely helps to have better scores.
