Learning Computer Science

I am a junior in high school probably going to major in biology. My motive for learning how to program is its use in scientific research and learning the subject could gain me research opportunities. I have recognized the importance of computer science/programming in research in general and its growing prevalence in the world is more cause for me to learn it.

How should I learn how to program? Which topic should I start with? Where should I start? I want to be at the skill level so that I know enough programming if a professor asks me if I know how to code, I can confidently say yes.

Thank you
