Does anyone have feedback regarding AP Calc BC (for someone who already took AP Calc AB in school) and AP Stats?

I took AP Micro online with flvs. The class is not too difficult when you try. I am an econ major, so the course came easy to me. I got a 4 on the exam, and the other person I took it with got a 5. The FLVS course is probably the best I've ever taken. VERY much prepares you for the AP Exam. I just caution you that Module 2-3 will be difficult (cost curves) but keep with it and you'll be fine. I took the course in 3 weeks (I worked on it for hours daily, finished Mod 1 and 2 within the first two days).

Any recent experiences in AP Computer Science A on FLVS? Or any other online course like CTY or Stanford EPGY? John Hopkins CTY has options for a 6 month or 9 month course. I was thinking of taking the 6 month course This means I will need to start in Nov 2020 so that it finishes right around April end. Just in time for the AP exams in May. Did you all plan similar timelines?

I took AP Computer Science A last year (May 2019 exam). Excellent course. 6 months is how long I took.

Does anyone have a more recent review of AP Psychology on FLVS, preferably taken it within the past two years? The most recent review of AP Psych I can find is from a few years ago.

My D took it. She liked it. A lot of vocab (like 900 terms), but she said the concepts were not difficult. She just made flash cards for all the vocab terms; she ended up getting an A and passing the AP exam.

Can someone share how much time flvs APCS takes? I know people are saying 10 hours per week for 30 weeks, but if you already know vars, loops, and arrays very well, how long would it be? For context, I am USACO Silver, so I can do complex word problems pretty well.

For anything thinking about AP Psych: Do it. I am currently doing AP Psych from FLVS, and I'm on track to finishing both semesters in a total of 2 weeks. The journals take 2-3 hours each which I find extremely boring, but the assignments and quizzes don't take more than 10 minutes each.

How did you divide your time/study for the AP psych exam? Is it possible to finish both segments over the summer?

@mom2boys1999 Psych has ~ 40 assignments/semester that take 15-20 mins each if you are efficient. As long as you put in a reasonable level of effort, you'll get full credit. There are 8-9 tests/quizzes.

@N111ancy I really did not study for the ap test because it was frq only, so I just used google when I forgot something. If you do just the course, you should be prepared conceptually for a normal AP Psych exam, however, you really need to memorize a lot of stuff.

The AP test is basically a test of like 500 vocab words and if you can memorize them you will get a 5.

I signed up for both segments of AP Psych and my preferred start date was June 2020. Was I supposed to sign up for the first segment only or is what I did fine?

Usually, you only sign up for one semester at a time so that you are not financially obligated to take the 2nd semester if you don't like 1st sem. There is nothing wrong with buying both now, however.

If you plan on doing both segments, signing up for both at once is fine.
Once you finish segment 1, you'll be able to access the segment 2 course.

Hey so I'm going into my Senior year on FLVS and had some questions regarding the selection of AP courses. The only AP course I have taken was this past year; AP U.S History. I actually really enjoyed that course and like many I did the 45 minute DBQ Exam for 2020 online. I found the exam itself relatively painless, and the course actually quite reasonable. I had originally intended to take AP Environmental Science and AP Literature this year, but I'm having second thoughts. After reading some rather old but scathing reviews of AP Enviro on here, I'm just wondering if anyone has a more recent experience with it that they could share. I had heard it was considered an "easy" AP course, but it sounds like that might not be the case after all. Plus, considering I haven't taken Physics or Chemistry, and considering math is not my strongest point, I think the content for the course itself may be beyond my capabilities. So, does anyone have recent experience with taken AP Enviro on FLVS? I would love to hear if you think it's easy, hard or somewhere in the middle.

As for AP Literature, I haven't taken Lang, but I'm comfortable with English (and have taken English 1, 2 & 3 on FLVS, all with high grades) and I thought Lit sounded more enjoyable. Is this what you would consider a "difficult" AP course for FLVS? If so, why?

And one last thing, should I decide to move away from AP Enviro (which I likely will), my other idea was to take AP Psychology since both of my older siblings took it and claimed it was quite fun. Does anyone have recent FLVS experience with this course? Would you consider it hard or easy?

I would really appreciate details (for all of these courses) about required hours to read any textbooks a week, the number of assignments expected each week, types of assignments, their difficulty and anything you would like to share about Final Exams/AP Exams. Thank you!

    Hello everyone,

It's been nearly two weeks since my course request has been complete. I'm currently 'awaiting classroom availability.' Should I contact anyone since it has been so long? Is this normal?
