Enrolled Students: I Need Your Help

Hi future classmates... Here's my situation. I am going abroad for couple of months and I live outside the US, which means two things: 1) DELAYED mail (usually 2 weeks but sometimes even 1 month) and 2) No access to campus. So far, I have set up my penn key only because I remembered the one from Pre-College Program rather than actually getting my information again (mail has not arrived and I doubt it will)... So as you can see, I am in a pretty complicated scenario.

What I need help is... being updated. Since I won't have access to my mails (not that it will make much of a difference), can you guys help me by telling me deadlines I have to meet? I am thinking stuff like housing (though that's done I think) and dining and registering for courses...

I would really appreciate your help... Thanks.

Registering for courses comes in like August. I think in mid July you should get mail from the school about an advisor and a list of all the courses available in the fall (though you can look that up online now).

Don't worry about dining. They automatically put you on the liberty plan which is what you want (99% chance) as a freshman.

To the OP, I'd offer to help but I'm an international myself and am still waiting on mail from Penn.
*Sorry for going on a tangent here*

Do you happen to know if there's any way we'd be able to register for courses earlier? I need to get the registrar's office to sign off on a scholarship form by July 31 saying I am a full time student, but when my mom called the office (I'm in school during their opening hours...), they said I need to register in courses before they can confirm my student status. I'll try calling them again next week...

They probably won't let you register any earlier, but you should be able to get the registrar to sign off earlier. Try escalating to someone higher up, or someone in the SFS ($$) office.

Huh, really, August? I'm in the Vagelos program, and I think Doc Lu told me that we'd be signing up mid June...
