One SAT II? Bad... or NOT so bad?

I was wondering.. I've sort of screwed up by not taking an SAT I/II in March, while I could've, because I did not feel at my optimum performance. I took the SAT I in May and am taking SATII Bio in June (this SATURDAY ;)).

I have not taken an SATII before this and was wondering whether this would be a BIG set back when applying to colleges?

Or... will this NOT be so bad since most colleges just "recommend" SATIIs.

I not quite understanding your problem. You can take more than one SAT II at a time and you can also take them in October and November before applying.

    Indeed...

I apologize for not being clear.

I will be retaking the SATI in October.

I am unable to take more than one SATII at this time, though I think I should.

The problem is that I would not have sufficient time to prep for whatever I choose to additionally take.

You can also test in November. I hear this is fine even for ED and EA.

I think you just have to send the scores directly to the school. Please, though, don't quote me on this and definitely check with a better-informed source.

yes, November is the last day to take tests for early decision applications. you will have to pay the like ~$26 fee to rush them directly to the college tho.

Generally speaking, though. Is it bad to have only 1 SATII when applying to GOOD colleges? Not Ivys.. but LIKE Ivys...

It depends entirely on what the individual colleges want. If they want three, then you need to take three. Your other option is to take the ACT and you don't have to send any SAT I's or SAT II's.

Simply go to the a college's website and check the requirements page.

Lots of "good" colleges don't even require SAT IIs....but if they do, they want at least 3.

some colleges accept ACTs in lieu of all SATs, wheras others use ACT instead of SAT I only.
MIT- for fall 2006, they require 3 SAT IIs, and SATI/ACT. for fall 2007, 2 SAT IIs, and SATI/ACT (with writing).
I believe the Ivies will also require SATIIs, along with SATI/ACT.
Many private colleges may take ACT instead of SATII, so do your research.

Eh, some schools require three, like Carnegie Mellon. I did fine at the schools I applied to without taking any SATIIs. I got into NYU, Oberlin, and Occidental. It's recommended to take a couple, though. I guess you should check out the schools where you plan to apply. I had originally intended to apply to CMU but couldn't because I didn't take SATIIs, so that was a bummer.
