Furman or Elon??

TonyDelCampoTonyDelCampo 3 replies3 threads New Member
My son has been admitted to Furman and Elon. Both are really good fits, but Elon is significantly more affordable, about $15K per year less. What, if any, is the benefit of attending Furman over Elon??

My S is at Elon and my D is an incoming freshman. D looked at both Furman and Elon. She really liked Furman a lot, but Elon is much stronger for her intended major (Strategic Communications). Drive time to Elon is better for us (7.5 hours vs. 10-11), and the airport/flight options are better. Extracurricular options such as club sports and faith-based organizations are more extensive at Elon. But Furman is a good school and if it weren't for some of the above factors, especially the major, she would have given Furman a stronger look. We loved the city of Greenville!
