So I visited Emerson today with my parents, and I was speechless. It was a real wake up call. Now, even if I do apply, I'll probably get rejected, but I'm doing it anyway because it's my dream college. Can anyone tell me my chances of getting in?

My final grades this year:

TV/Film Production: A-
Creative Writing: B+
US History: B+
English: C+
Geometry: C-
Spanish: C-
Health: C

Overall high school G.P.A.- Weighted: 78
Unweighted: 78.3

SATs- 1620 (Without studying, I plan to take them again)
Critical Reading- 640
Math- 480

3 years TV/Film Club
2 years World Traveling Club
2 Years Anime/Comic Book Club
2nd Place - A teen poetry contest at my library
Outstanding Work, Student/Poetry Category (2nd or 3rd Place) - An art festival for a neighboring town
Nominated by a teacher to attend the 2011 Mass. Poetry Festival- Attended
Won 'Superior Achievement in Creative Writing' Award- Student recognition award at my school
Worked at a Summer Camp (Freshman Year)
Took karate lessons (Up to Freshman Year)
Started volunteering at a local animal shelter last month

Mass. resident
Taking Honors Government next year
Might get an internship at a local newspaper
Being Interviewed to get into a film school for high schoolers
Getting interviewed by my local newspaper for a 'Students in the arts' piece.
Already interviewed by my local newspaper-website for the festival of the arts.
Attended a vocational school my freshman year, so I'll have two separate transcripts (The vocational school had no extracurriculars that interested me)
Hosted a Coffeehouse event to raise money for the world travel club
Trying my hardest (next year) to boost my G.P.A.

Thanks for reading.

Hey! I'm a fellow applicant as well ^_^

If I were you I would try to do some AP classes (or IB if your school offers it). It looks slightly better with not so high grades.

Ugh, the dastardly SAT. I have the same score. Just study your butt off and you'll do a bit better. :)

As of right now I would say it's a reach, BUT some majors require you to do interviews (or something like that....), so keep that in mind, it could save you

    Good luck!
I hope that we both hear good news from Emerson when we apply ^_^
I plan on visiting in a few weeks, so i'm ready to be blown away as well :)
