I think you have a good chance if you write a good essay about why Oxford is a good fit. Feel free to PM me with questions.

Should be able to get in Oxford for EDII. Seems unfortunate you didn't get in Emory ED1 and I wouldn't have expected it either, but it seems like there were some unusual people applying ED this year. As you've seen, some people on here also had crazy EC's, high scores, very high GPAs and the took subject tests for Early Decision rounds (when it's not required and hardly even encouraged for RD). My guess is that the adcoms just soaked that stuff up and tried to set a high bar for as many students as possible. Too bad you were on the wrong end of it. I think that if you get into Oxford (you should), it'll be a solid fit and a very good 2 years academically. You'll really learn to like learning going there and then come in and kick butt at Emory if you choose to do so.

The ED round had lots of unusually strong candidates, sure. But a 3.49 over-represented minority is not getting in regardless. Especially with a nosedive junior year.

I don't know about Oxford admissions. I think you have a good shot, but I don't know how they do things there.

If you do get in, I think you'll do well. Your test scores show you have the brainpower. Your GPA indicates you're either lazy or dealing with a lot of **** in high school. If you can get that sorted out, you'll be successful here. Because you're definitely smart.
