How to submit research abstract?

allisunknownallisunknown Registered User Posts: 100 Junior Member
edited January 2014 in Emory University
Research is my main EC and I was wondering if there was a way to send it in?

I mention it/specific prof's whose work I find interesting in my 'Why Emory' essay and a LoR from my mentor, but other schools I'm interested in have also let me submit the abstract, which I think would give them a sense of *why* I like Emory's neuroscience.

I'm applying to Emory for mostly the programs - Sanskrit/South Asian Studies and the Neuroscience major.

[Intl, Canadian]

Thanks!

How does the rec. letter system work? Do the profs. upload it or send it out. It may have been nice if you could have gotten your mentor/PI (or even a counselor or someone) to send the abstract with the rec. letter. Maybe you can as Emory's admissions office if there is a way to send it to them, though it's kind of late. However, if you talked enough about the research you did in one of the essays, you should be good.

@bernie12 did you end up sending in your abstract? I am in exactly the same situation as you. Research is my main EC and I talked about it extensively in my essay, and I am unsure whether I should send it in as well.
Coincidentally, Im also interested in neuroscience and did research in that field :)

It's the OP that needs to do this, not me.

He uploaded it and the sec. also mailed a copy. Maybe I'll e-mail the Emory office? I wish I had thought of this earlier, but all my other schools gave us options through the common app. :-/

Yeah, I think the common. app. had options that allowed for students to submit resumes and stuff like that. I don't know what's up.

Resolution - I wrote the Emory office and they sent me this:

"Applicants to Emory University may submit supplemental information if they feel that the Common Application does not adequately provide the opportunity to detail their accomplishments. There are no additional forms that need to be completed when submitting supplemental materials. The Admission Committee prefers that any supplemental information be submitted as an attached document via email to: [email protected]. Please save your document as a PDF or a Word document. We do request that student's include their full name exactly as it is listed on their Common Application, birth date, and school name on any submitted supplement materials. "

So I just emailed them it today.

    Yay!
