EE major with CS minor

Hello, I am an EE major, and I was wondering if it is worth getting a minor in CS? I am thinking about doing it simply for the reason of acquiring some good software/programming skills.

Sounds very, very powerful if you have the least bit of interest in embedded systems (engine controls, flight controls, refrigerators, locomotives, elevators, submarines, dishwashers, novelty clocks, etc.).

If you want to do embedded systems, consider a computer engineering degree. It's somewhat of a hybrid of EE an CS. EE-based, with more CS courses and fewer analog and magnetics courses.
