There’s no objective measure of a “best” school. The USNews list is one opinion but Google will find many more.

Check each schools ABET accreditation since this is very important for Civil Engineering majors to qualify for the PE license.

What's best for one student will be different than what's best for another. If you tell us your state, stats, and how much your parents can afford we can probably give you some options that might work for you.

What kind of civil engineering work appeals to you? What location(s) are you envisioning for your job someday?

As is the case all too often on CC, it seems as if the OP asked a question and then ghosted out. It looks as if they have a habit of starting discussions, but never replying.

I really like architecture but also civil engineering, so a combination would be ideal. I know UT has ArchE but it doesn't seem like many other schools have that.

The ABET website has a program search that will give you a list of architectural engineering programs. In addition to those, university of Arizona has a new arch eng program that is probably in the accreditation process. My daughter has an architectural engineering degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. It is a multidisciplinary engineering degree, focused on buildings. She was required to take one architecture class.

@Parentof2014grad THank you Ill check it out! Do you have an idea if finding jobs would be harder with arch engineering since its a newer and less widespread major than civil?

She and her classmates did not have trouble finding jobs. There were plenty of firms hiring and plenty of familiarity with the degree. She did a couple of AE internships as well, before changing her focus a bit. She did a co-terminal masters degree in structural engineering and is working in that field.
I know when she took the FE and the PE exams there was some self study of civil engineering involved, since she needs structural PE licensure. She did pass both exams first try so it worked out.

IIT is like a diamond in the rough. Some really good solid programs with kids that get good internships and job's. New innovated things happening on campus

I know Howard Tullman of 1871 and other ventures. He alone will help reshape the campus
