More CSS/Profile Questions

I just finished filling out the online Profile. Our S is not applying ED anywhere. The earliest the Profile is due at any of his RD schools is 1 Jan. Questions:

- Is there any advantage to sending in the Profile now? Any advantage to waiting?
- One of the questions asks about the value of any Pre-Paid Tuition Plans. What number do they want me to put in the blank? What I paid for the plan? or What it will eventually pay? How do I determine that?
- Any other hints for success on filing the Profile?

Thanks!

boy I sure don't know about prepaid plans- but I think they are a percentage of instate tuition that can be theoretically used at any school?
So you would put down what you would be able to get out if it- I imagine
the advantage to sending the profile- would be that it is one more thing to check off as taken care of
the disadvantage is that once it is sent- unlike the FAFSA you cannot make corrections
Any corrections would have to be sent to the school.

ek4, I suppose you are right. Since all my 2005 figures are guesses and I know I am going to have to amend everything anyway, I see no reason to wait. As you said, another thing to check off the list! I just sent an email to the state asking them what the current value is of our pre-paid tuition plan.

ek4, just sent in my Profile. Do you know anything about the worksheet that we can use to help fill out the FAFSA? I am assuming we can't do that any earlier than 1 Jan correct? Can we download that worksheet now? Just curious. Where is the worksheet download button? thanks

Off the top of my head I am not sure about the worksheet, but you can go to the FAFSA site and look at last years form and see all the pages, or you can usually get one from your school GC
