UC Berkeley Off Campus Financial Aid

chickencowchickencow Registered User Posts: 1 New Member
Help! I'm a rising sophomore at UC Berkeley looking to move into an off campus apartment. I'm currently living in the dorms, and I'm on the Blue and Gold financial aid plan, so I have a lot of financial aid from the school which is what I'm largely relying on to pay for tuition and housing. If I move off campus, does anyone know how much my financial aid will approximately change? Thanks!

Did you contact the school to ask how your aid might change if you move off campus?

this link shows different COA budgets for on off campus. Looks like the COA estimate is about $4,100 lower off campus. What that means in terms of your aid, you might have to ask the school about.

I just ran the net price calculator on UCB website. Looks like grant aid might be reduced by $4000 for off campus versus on campus. So hopefully your off campus apt and food/utilities will be $4000 cheaper than on campus.

But you might still want to talk to FA office at UCB to get info directly from them.
