IDOC - No W2 and no 1099

desperateandmedesperateandme 3 replies3 threads New Member
Hi. My mom is self employed so she does not receive W2. IDOC is asking for form 1099, a letter from a government agency, or year end pay stubs. Would schedule c be accepted as a substitute or do I need to get a letter from a government agency?

Any help is appreciated.

@happymomof1 the OP says the mom was self employed.

Yes, but the difficulty appears to be with providing evidence of the income. My kid is self-employed and has a raft of 1099s every year from all of those different contracts, as well as a bunch of checks from smaller gigs, and records of cash payment for cash-only gigs. If the mom is self-employed, then someone paid her to do whatever work it is that she did.

True that...if the work was over a certain $$$ amount. Otherwise, 1099 forms are not required.

My kid provides a service sort of...he keeps very good track of his income...as well as expenses. He does not get 1099 forms for most of his income.
