What do you mean? You need to submit your FAFSA to the new school...and that new school will determine your need based aid.

If you are entitled to a Pell Grant, you will get that at your new school. If you want the Direct Loan, you can take that at your new school. That’s it for guarantees.

But you need to submit the FAFSA to your new school. Have you done that?

I meant, does an approved FAFSA transfer over mid-year?

I’m not sure I understand the question, but generally speaking if you add the new school to your FAFSA, regardless of the time of year, you should be fine (meaning you don’t have to create a new FAFSA).

Go into your FAFSA. Add the code for the new school. Hit send. The new school will have your FAFSA and can then process your FA. If they question something, even on your 'approved' (processed) FAFSA, the new school can ask for information to support the FAFSA, just like the prior school could have.

You need to submit your completed 2019-2020 FAFSA to your new school. Once that is done, the new school will determine what, if any, need based aid you will receive.

So yes...you completed FAFSA can now be submitted to your new school by doing as noted above.

Your financial aid award, however, might not be the same at your new school vs your current one.

If you had aid paid out to you in fall, contact the old school to ask them to cancel your spring aid. That will be very helpful for the new school.

If your current school is giving you need based aid, then those $$ will not go to your new school.

You need to find out what your new school is giving you.

Transfer students often get lousy aid.

    What is your FAFSA EFC?

@WeLoveLyman @twoinanddone @thumper1 Thank you all for the replies! I think I got it and I logged into the FAFSA and added the new school!
