Do I have to fill out the fafsa verification worksheet if I don’t plan on attending the specific college that requires it?

Was it from a specific college? Are you absolutely positive you won’t be attending there?

It was from multiple, but I decided to apply to community college and have yet to submit my fafsa to the community college and yes I am sure I wont be attending those colleges.

If you were selected for verification by the federal processor (there will be an asterisk next to your EFC on your Student Aid Report), you will be required to complete verification in order to get any aid (including Pell, loans or work study) at any school you attend. You don’t have to complete verification at a school you won’t be attending, though. Once you submit your FAFSA to the CC, watch for communications from them regarding verification.

Alright, what if I had made a mistake on my fafsa and fix that mistake that triggered the fafsa verification and send it to the CC will they still ask for fafsa verification?

    1. What was the mistake...and how did you correct it?

    2. Did you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool?

My suggestion...why don’t you submit the corrected FAFSA to your community college ASAP.

    Uh?

I do hope you included both parent incomes on your FAFSA.

You probably want to get your parents to both order tax transcript ASAP.

What was their tax filing status? Were they married when you initially submitted your FAFSA?

Once you are selected for verification, the requirement will not go away for that academic year.

I am also wondering about the parent marital status.

If they did not file a joint tax return you will not be able to use the DRT. It's likely you'll be selected for verification at any school, so as suggested they should both order tax transcripts.
